JUNE 2020

It is now the beginning of June of the Golf Season and finally we have been able to get out on the Golf Courses to play some golf.  We had to make some drastic changes to how each event is run, but so far it looks like things are running smooth.  I personally would like to Thank George Cook, Reino Fleck, Dick Anderson, and Dale Brown for all they have contributed to making this season run smoothly.  They have worked tirelessly to make sure we get back out on the Golf Courses.  Also, I would like to Thank the Golf Pros/Courses for their cooperation in this unusual Golf Season, as without their cooperation, there would not be a Golf Season.  Finally, I would like to Thank all our members for their cooperation during this abnormal Golf Season, as it is because of you we are able to run a smooth operation.

I am not real sure what information I can pass along other than to repeat some of the information I have shared in the past.

  1. We will have to cut the total number of Golfers per event in half, so 80 for 18 Hole course and 40 for a 9 Hole course, because of the Guidelines set down by the respective States.  The Golf Courses DO NOT want large groups gathering at one time so please adhere to the Guidelines we set down.  These numbers could change if Social distancing is relaxed.  Those numbers are up 8 on 18 Hole course and 4 on a 9 Hole course as we added 2 additional Tee Times for 18 and 1 for 9.  Tee Times start at 9:00 am and end at 10:30 am.  It would be beneficial to have golfers ready 10 minutes before their scheduled Tee Time as we have been able to get out a little early at some of the courses.
  2. We will allow members to OPT OUT for this Golf Season and their dues they paid will be dues for next year 2021. This must be done by June 15, 2020. IF YOU PLAY BEFORE JUNE 15TH YOU CANNOT OPT OUT. If you OPT OUT, you will not be able to sign up for any of the events we play this year.  We will allow you to OPT BACK IN, but then your dues for 2020 will be used and dues for 2021 will be due by the end of the Golf Season like normal. TO OPT OUT SEND US AN EMAIL BY GOING TO THE TAB ON THE FIRST PAGE OF OUR WEB SITE AND CLICK ON “CONTACT US” AND TELL US YOUR PLAYER NUMBER, FULL NAME AND THAT YOU WANT TO OPT OUT. IF LATER ON YOU WANT TO OPT BACK IN YOU DO THE SAME AND JUST TELL US YOU WANT TO OPT BACK IN. If you opt out, we will reassign you a player number. As an example, if your current number is 45 your new number will be 1045 and when you opt back in or for the 2021 golf year you will go back to 45.
  3. We will not have the minimum 5 rounds played rule this year to keep your membership, being we have cut the number of golfers per event in half.
  4. We are looking at using Tee Times if the Golf Course will not let us use a Shotgun Start.  Tee times would start at 9:00 and be every 10 minutes until we have all 80 golfers playing.  We will send 4 off Hole #1 and 4 off Hole #10 per each Tee Time.  If we use Tee Times, we will make sure they are posted UNDER COMMUNICATIONS on our Web Site before the event so you can show up at the proper time. WE DO NOT WANT GOLFERS STANDING AROUND AND NOT PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCEING.
  5. Members who ride will be required to each have a cart.  So far, the courses are willing to keep the Cart Fees (HALF A CART FEE PER GOLFER) the same per golfer.  On the North Dakota Courses, they are allowing 2 per cart if the golfers are comfortable riding together.
  6. We will want ALL payments made by check, as the courses are not open for cash payments and we do not have the ability to do Credit Cards. If this is a problem, please contact us. (PLEASE HAVE THE CHECK MADE OUT to RRVSMGA BEFORE YOU COME)
  7. We will not be able to pay out weekly winnings, so will probably pay out at the end of the year in a lump sum.  This could change if the restrictions are loosened as the summer progresses.
  8. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY SKINS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
  9. We will continue to update and make changes as allowed by the rules set down by the respective States, we play in.  This process is a work in progress so please be patient with us.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

David
