We are now in Mid-August and the season seems to be going too fast as we are less then two months away from the end of the Golf Season. It has been an interesting season, but I think we have survived this COVID stuff quite well. I want to thank the membership for your patience and cooperation with us as we muddled through the season. I again with some hesitation want to thank Reino for all he has done to make this a successful season. Damn that hurt to say.
We just got back from a successful trip to Maddens. This year we had 35 golfers for this trip. We got in 2 rounds of golf, even though we had to wait out some rain on the last day, but all and all I think everyone had a great time. If you know anyone who went, chat with them and see what their thoughts are about the success of the trip. Just a heads up, Reino is working on them to play The Classic on our first day for a few extra dollars, like $35, for next year. Keep your eye on our Web Site for updates.
We have had some misunderstanding when it comes to our No Show/Cancellation rules. Reino must pull down the information from our Web Site 3 days prior to the event at 9pm to get the information ready for the event. It is not a tough process, but it is a tedious process that requires time. If when the event is taken down, your name is still on the event, you are responsible for that event. If you are unable to make the event, you need to call and let us know, but you will be charged a Cancellation Fee ($10). If you choose to do nothing, you will be charged a No-Show Fee ($15). We must have these rules to have some control of the events. If we didn’t have these rules, we would have too many abuse it, which is unfair to the Golf Courses, as we want full events to make it good for them.
Another one of the comments I have received is golfers hitting into the golfers in front of them as they are still on the green or just exiting it. If you are in a hurry to get a round of golf in, this is not the tour to be on. We need to be considerate to ALL golfers on this tour. Some of us golfers are faster than others so please be patient while you are playing. We are out here to play the game we all love and to enjoy ourselves, so let’s make sure we do that.
We have our Annual Meeting coming up on Thursday, August 20, 2020 after the Hawley event. We will be setting up outside to hold the meeting. If does not have to be a long meeting, but we do need to get some things done before the end of the season.
Our Fall Scramble is scheduled for August 23, 2020 at Rose Creek. This is a fun event that fills up early, so if you are interested, make sure you sign up early. After the Scramble, while we are tallying the results, you can eat a meal that is furnished with your Entry Fee.
Make sure you check the Web Site for Starting Times on the remaining events as there are some that are still Tee Times and some are Shotgun starts.
Like I said earlier, this has been an interesting Golf Season and hopefully we will get by all this COVID stuff by the time the next season starts.
David
