We are now into the 2nd week of September and about one month away from the end of the Golf Season for the Red River Valley Senior Men’s Golf Association. We only have one event this week because of Labor Day and a mix up with Detroit Lakes Country Club. We ended up having to move DL CC to September 15 instead of September 8, which from the weather forecast looks like better weather for the event.
Our Fall Scramble is set for September 23 at Rose Creek starting at 10am. All golfers who sign up will ride as it will be a full event and a requirement to play. The cost for the Scramble will be $30 per Golfer ($20 to course, $6 lunch and $4 Prize Money) unless you are a member of the course, then it will be $25 ($15 to course, $6 lunch and $4 Prize Money). We may have Team Skins, but that would be paid the morning of the Scramble. We will have lunch served after the event and hand out the Prize Money for the event.
We had our Fall Meeting after the event at Hawley on August 20. The one thing that I can report is that the officers were elected and there is no change from this year. The officers are as follows:
David Brunsvold, President
George Cook, Vice President
Reino Fleck, Secretary/Treasurer
I would also like to know who is willing to continue as Course Reps for next season, so please email me and tell me if you plan on staying as a Course Rep. My email is: dbrunsvold32@gmail.com
We had 4 events a week for almost 3 months, which was interesting. Our costs for the year were increased because of that so at the Fall meeting, we decided that the Membership Dues need to go up for 2022. The Dues for 2021 will be $25 still and need to be paid by the last event, which is October 7th, or you can be dropped from the Membership. Please send your Membership Dues to: Reino Fleck, 2516 Country Club Parkway, Moorhead, MN 56560. Dick Anderson is in-charge of Membership and would like to have this all taken care of by the end of the last event.
UNPAID WINNINGS will continue to be paid by check once you have won a total of $20 or more. If you have signed up for the Scramble on September 23 at Rose Creek, we plan on having cash at the event to pay off winnings up to that date. If after the Scramble, you have additional winnings at the end of the year, we will mail out your winnings after the Season ends. Any questions, please contact me.
This has been an interesting Golf Season and I hope that next year we can go back to a Normal Golf Calendar.
David
