It is December 8th, no snow and warm enough to go golfing today (53) but nothing in town open. I guess just you Snowbirds are playing golf. It has been an interesting fall with the election and all the BS that goes on with that and continues to go on. This is one year I think most of us would just soon be over and forgotten. There are only 3 golfers that probably do not want to forget 2020, Harold Mattingly, Ron Wixo, and Dennis Jacobson, who all had a Hole-in-Ones.
This past Golf Season turned out to be interesting. We had a successful season even though we had to cut participants in each event to half the normal golfers attending each event. We allowed golfers to Opt Out for the season and put their membership money to the 2021 Golf Season. We had over 100 golfers use that option. We also did not require the active golfers to play the minimum 5 rounds to keep your membership. We talked about that today and have decided that we will go back to the way we have always been as far as requirements. We are hoping everything will go back to normal by the time the Golf Season starts in Mid-April 2021, so there will be NO OPTING OUT and you WILL BE required to play a minimum of 5 rounds of golf to stay on the active membership list. We really liked the Check process so as of now, we are keeping that option open. If we can go back to a Normal Golf Season, we will pay out the winning money at the next event, like we previously did, instead of paying with checks.
REMINDERS: When members change address, phone numbers, phone vendors and email address (and shorts) to click on CONTACT US on the first page of the WEB SITE and tell us the change along with their name and Player number.
If any of you know of any Member that has passed on or just wants to quit to please let us know.
If you want to be ADDED/DELETED, MAKE ANY CHANGES under the WEB SITE MEMBERS OPTIONS/MISCELLANEOUS/WINTER CONTACT INFO to let us know by again using the CONTACT US on the first page of the WEB SITE.
THE GREEN FEE COST THAT GOLFERS PAY TO PLAY WILL BE INCREASED TO $15 PER ROUND. WE WILL BE PAYING THE SAME TO THE GOLF COURSES PER ROUND WHETHER IT IS A 9 HOLE OR 18 HOLE COURSE. SO NOW, WALKING WILL BE $15 AND RIDING WILL BE $15 PLUS COST OF CART. WE ARE NOT SURE WHY THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE FOR 9 HOLE COURSE VERSUS A 18 HOLE COURSE, BUT WE DECIDED IT SHOULD BE THE SAME.
We have been working on next year’s schedule and if I remember right, Reino has it all lined up except for a couple of questions. Reino told me he is working on Oxbow to see if we can get another date earlier in the Golf Season. I think everyone that played Oxbow last year would tell you it was a great course although very tough, especially when you lose a bet to yours truly, right Mark S. Again, I would like to thank all the members who assisted in making this a successful season, especially George Cook, Reino Fleck, Dale Brown, Dick Anderson, and Norm Forster, who all put in extra time to make this past season successful. We also need to thank the Golf Courses/Pros for working with us this year, as they had to make some sacrifices to allow us to golf this year under unusual circumstances.

I hope everyone has a great winter and that we finally will get by this COVID stuff before the start of the next Golf Season. Hopefully, this vaccine they are getting out will work and we can get back to normal.
