We are now starting the July Golf schedule and hopefully we will not have any cancellations so we can complete our Golf Schedule for the rest of the year. I will keep my fingers crossed.
I had someone stop me about the policy of moving the ball when we play. We allow all golfers to move the ball with the head of a club throughout the whole course, except for the Sand Bunkers. We DO NOT allow you to move the ball from behind a tree to give yourself a clear shot out of the rough or from a Tree Line. Please remind golfers in your foursome these rules if you see anything else being done. We all like to have a clear shot, but we need to follow the rules.
Reino has made our Reservations for our Madden Outing scheduled for Wednesday, August 17th and Thursday, August 18th. I am not real sure how many signed up, but I know that it is fewer than last year, which is disappointing. I am sure that if you are still interested in signing up, Reino can make additions to our Reservations. The trip this year costs $250, which includes 2 rounds of golf, one night stay, Box lunch when we arrive on Wednesday before we golf, a sit down supper in the restaurant Wednesday night after golfing, Breakfast buffet in the morning on Thursday before we golf and lunch after we golf on Thursday morning before we leave. It is a fun time. Please consider signing up for next year if you don’t sign up this year. We would like to continue this event, but if the participation doesn’t increase, we just may not be able to keep going. Also, Reino pays gas money to anyone who drives, which with the price of gas, that will help.
LOST BALL: A lost ball is just like an OB Ball, 2 strokes. If you lose your ball, you can put a ball down one club length into the fairway where you think the Ball was lost. So, if you lose a ball off the tee, when you put a ball down you now will be hitting 4, just like an OB ball. A ball into a hazard is not considered lost it is considered a poor shot and it is only 1 stroke. Please follow these rules and if anyone has any questions, please contact one of the Board members or your Course Rep.
We do have the Ryder Cup scheduled for August 24-25 in Wahpeton again this year. We need 12 golfers to sign up and then we play against the Southeast Golf Association. We play 3 rounds, 2 man Best Ball, 2 man Scramble and then on Sunday 12 single matches. It is done with handicap so if interested please sign up when it becomes available. It is a good event and lots of fun. We lost the first year we played them but last year we got our revenge. We would love to make it 2 years in a row.
