The Golf Season is well on its way and other than being some very poor participation in a couple of events, things have gone smoothly. So, let’s talk about the poor participation in our events.
We had 12 events so far this year with the following attendance:
Village Green 104/144
Casselton 31/72
Blueberry Pines 51/144
Wildflower 57/144
DL Country Club 139/144
Dakota Winds 35/144
Meadows 134/144
Balmoral 45/144
Hawley 142/144
Thumper Pond 100/144
Perham 72/144
Hillsboro 57/72
The only 9-hole courses were Casselton and Hillsboro, so a full event would be 72 players. All the others, the full event could be 144 players. In order for us to be able to keep the assortment of Golf Courses on our schedule, we really need to get more participation in these events. Blueberry Pines, Wildflower, Dakota Winds, Balmoral are all wonderful Golf Courses, and we should really get at least 100 golfers at these events. I know there are some comments about the price to play, but most of these would be double or more the price we pay, if you went there on your own.
The No Show/Cancel Policy is there so we have some kind of control of the events we play. Reino spends quite some time setting up each event and so please try to make the events you sign up for. We understand there are circumstances that arise at the last minute, so you must Cancel, but we had 16 at a recent event, which seemed out of the norm. Remember that once the Sign-up is taken down, you are responsible to inform the Course Rep, if you need to Cancel. That will save you $5 as a NO SHOW is $15 fee and not the $10 Cancel Fee. Also, if you have a Guest coming that is a No Show or Cancels, you are responsible for the No Show/Cancel Fee.
We have two events this coming week and it looks like they are almost full, which is a good thing. Let’s keep that up and fill up these events, so we keep the Golf Courses happy with us.
Remember to check the Web Site to see if you have any winnings and remember you must pick up those winnings within 30 days of the date you played. If you are unable to get the winnings, have a friend pick them up for you so they are not forfeited.
I guess there is not much more I have to pass along other than see you out on the Golf Courses.
